Kailh Choc V1 Keycaps

Keycap Requirements​

The keyboard supports both MX spacing (19.05mm x 19.05mm) and Choc spacing (18mm x 17mm) keycaps.

warning

MX spacing refers to the size of the keycaps and should not be confused with MX switches/keycaps. MX spacing keycaps are compatible but MX switches/keycaps are not compatible.

In the diagram below, the key label identifies the size of the keycap. 1U is the standard keycap size, 1.5U is 150% of the standard size, and 2U is 200% of the standard size.

Keycap Sizes

It is recommended that you purchase the following keys for filling a complete ErgoDoxLP Wireless keyboard:

  • 60x1U (58 regular keys plus 2 homing keys)
  • 12x1.5U
  • 4x2U

If you are not concerned about all the keycaps being the ideal size, you may use 1U keycaps in place of 1.5U/2U keycaps or 1.5U keycaps in place of 2U keycaps.

MBK Keycap Options​

MBK keycaps have Choc spacing and are the recommended option.

Chocfox Keycap Options​

Chocfoc keycaps are similar to MBK although they are slightly smaller. The 1U keycaps measure 16.5mm by 16.5mm, compared to MBK's 17.5mm by 16.5mm.

  • CFX Blank (Opaque/Translucent, Black/White)
  • CFX Legend
    • It is recommended that you do not purchase the "Ergo Kit" as it does not have enough modifiers for the ErgoDoxLP Wireless. You should purchase additional 1U, 1.5U, and 2U CFX Blank keys individually as needed.

Work Louder Keycap Options​

Work Louder keycaps are MX spacing keycaps. As the sets does not have enough 2U keys and does not have any 1.5U keys, it is recommended that you populate all the modifier keys with something else like MBK. These are a good option if you want keycaps with legends and don't mind combining multiple sets.
